In 2019, which marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the flower basket in Tiananmen Square still follows the design of the previous "Blessing to the Motherland" flower basket. In addition to flowers with auspicious meanings such as chrysanthemums and roses, the basket is also decorated with simulated fruits such as pomegranates, apples, and peaches.

        Shougang Construction Group has undertaken the steel structure construction task of the Tiananmen Square themed flower basket for the 15th time in 12 consecutive years. The outer diameter of the flower bed structure is 38m, the diameter of the basket plate is 11.5m, and the overall height of the flower bed is 18m. It is divided into three parts: the main base of the flower bed, the blue plate, and the slope frame, with a total weight of about 248t. It adopts modular design and overall lifting.

     Unlike previous years, the installation of flower beds this year has been postponed until after the National Day celebration on October 1st, and will be completed the next morning. Shougang Construction Group optimized the design and construction plan, conducted repeated research, calculations, and drills, refined the construction process of each link, and completed the structural installation in only 3 hours, which bought sufficient time for the subsequent flower arrangement and successfully completed the construction task.
