In 2018, the Tiananmen Square flower bed continued the theme of "Blessing to the Motherland", with a festive flower basket as the main scenery. The basket is composed of flowers with auspicious meanings such as sunflowers, roses, orchids, magnolias, and leaf flowers. The task undertaken by Beijing Shougang Construction Group is the steel structure construction of the themed flower bed. The core components of the flower bed steel structure consist of a chassis with a diameter of 30 meters and a height of 1.2 meters, a basket belly with a diameter of 4.2 meters and a height of 4.8 meters, a basket plate with a diameter of 11.5 meters, and a basket core with a height of 10.7 meters, with a total weight of nearly 125 tons. After continuous and intense construction by Shougang Construction Group, all the main structure fabrication, pre assembly, transfer transportation, assembly, lifting and other processes have been successfully completed.
